Welcome to the blog of the English Department in IES Lauro.
Our objective is to encourage our students to reach a good level of English at the end of the secondary school.
IES Lauro has started an experimental plan for the foreign language acquisition, that we have called “Time to communicate”.
This year the school has invested in a new class for foreign languages, equipped with fifteen new computers and an ITW. So far we have found that these new facilities have already improved the motivation and the interests of the students.
The main objective of this project is to improve the English communicative competence in general among our students and to make them interact efficiently and with autonomy when using the English language.
This will be accomplished through different tasks. In the end all the assignments in the class circle around one subject. In 3rd the students will finish the year with a big “quiz show” and in 4th ESO the students will prepare for their trip to the U.K.
Although our project is centered on 3rd and 4th ESO, the experiment is having a positive impact in all the levels.
